One of the archaeological sites contained within Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument, the Quarai Ruins are the remains of a church built in the early 17th century. The Spanish Franciscan missionaries who constructed the church used it to teach local Native Americans about Christianity and convert them to this European religion.
